As the General Manager, the key aspects of the role requires an experienced GM to develop, manage, and oversee the delivery of high volume of homes annually from end to end in South Australia. You will lead the large retail business unit management team across sales, operations, construction management, design, HR and Finance. You will be tasked to the delivery of agreed volume targets, revenues, margin and profit targets for the Retail Business Unit in South Australia. Success in the position will be working with the Senior Management Team to develop, implement, and grow the business unit in the region consistent with the clients strategic plan. You will need to lead and engage a team of housing professionals and establish and maintain a performance management and communications framework to effectively drive performance and team engagement thereon. To be successful in this role you will also need to identify new business opportunities in the existing market and align with the Group Strategic Plan and annual business strategy. You will be responsible for the risk management framework and implement the annual Retail Housing operating budget.
The Successful Applicant
Our client is looking for a General Manager with a track record of delivering large volume homes pa in a large complex home builder. You will need to have led a large team and delivered agreed large volume growth, revenues, margin and profit targets for the Retail Business Unit. You must have a proven track record in senior management position in high volume housing models with a specific emphasis on contract housing delivery models (high volume). You would have been in a successful home builder in a general management role in a rapid growth environment and a solid understanding of residential construction techniques and operational management, building codes and legislative requirements. You will need significant experience managing, monitoring and documenting work flow processes and developing process re-engineering improvements. Critical track record in managing risk and the ability to identify and mitigate risk through planning and contributing to the development of strategic business plans. You will need a firm grasp on finance, forecasting, and budgeting practices of a high volume home builder in rapid growth.
