About Our Client
Our client is a national peak industry body (PIB) within the horticultural sector and is focussed on the development of its industry by integrating the efforts of Horticulture Innovation Australia Ltd (HIAL) with the PIB membership base and other relevant government bodies. With recent changes within the organisation our client is looking for a dynamic individual to lead the PIB's communication needs, so as to maximise outcomes for marketing, promotions and R&D efforts across the industry into the future.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the person fulfilling this role will be responsible for developing and coordinating communication between the PIB members, HIAL and key government agencies. Having established efficient and effective communication channels, the role will encompass the driving of key projects which provide the PIB members with a high return on investment. The role will have a large emphasis on marketing and promotion developments aimed at creating greater demand whilst also embracing scientific and industrial innovations to increase productivity and quality. The role has a high degree of autonomy, applicants will need to be 'self-starters', and be capable of driving the various programmes the organisation demands.
The Successful Applicant
As the successful candidate in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification or technical training with a depth of experience relevant to the communication and industry engagement needs of the PIB. Proven success of this will be required to secure the position. Proven success in promotion, marketing, R&D within the horticultural sector will be very highly regarded.
You may also have:
- A track record of success working within one or more of the following sectors, industry, a research facility, communication, government agency or a PIB.
- Experience in marketing and R&D.
- Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Relevant skills to lead and manage a small business.
