About Our Client
Our client is a well respected mid tier Contractor with a real focus on working environment, organisational culture and work life balance. Our client has multiple expertise in Road, Rail, Earthworks and Mining Projects. An opening has been created for a Senior Earthworks Estimator to form part of their civil construction team. This organisation has offices in Sydney and Newcastle, where the new team member will be based.

Job Description

As the Senior Estimator your role within the business will consist of, but not be limited to, the following;

• Report to the Chief Estimator
• Prepare estimates by applying first principles in addition to using schedule of rates
• Lead cost estimates and technical proposals for tender proposals for tender submissions
• Analyse contingencies and identify technical departures
• Compile risk assessments
• Attend site and tender meetings

The Successful Applicant

Ideally the successful Roads Estimator will display the following attributes;

• Background in estimating on earthmoving civil projects
• Degree qualified in civil engineering or a related field
• Excellent mathematical skills and ability to price effectively with a high degree of accuracy
• Self Starter capable of working independently but able to integrate well with peers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced computer literacy
