About Our Client

As Client Side Estimator you have the opportunity to join a leading international telecommunications company with operations nationwide and overseas. This company provides end-to-end telecommunications services to both wholesale and retail customers. With a size, scale and an industry brand name that is well respected, the company is benefiting from the NBN infrastructure investment and will be a key player in the management of NBN assets.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

Maintain up to date pricing information relevant to both customer and resources

Maintain market intelligence on pricepoints within relevant markets

Preparing estimates utilizing standardised resourcing/estimating model

Identify and quantify commercial and operational risks

Initiate, prepare for and participate in tender review meetings

Developing competitive/alternative pricing structures

Contribute to the preparation and project management of bids

Working with the Commercial manager and project manager in assessing bid opportunities

Work with the commercial team in the development and implementation of effective tendering processes, and commercial procedures and systems

Provide business analysis and development of policy and procedures to support commercial and corporate objectives and initiatives

The Successful Applicant

Key experience required:

  • Experience in a estimating role encompassing civil construction and/or electrical disciplines within a Telecommunications Service Provider and/or Infrastructure Service Provider
  • A demonstrable track record in successfully managing tender proposals (values ranging between $200k to $5 million) in the Telecommunications and/or other Infrastructure markets in Australia
  • Understanding of commercial risk/reward and competitive pricing issues
  • Understanding of core risk management issues covering both operational (delivery, safety, environmental) and commercial contracting
  • Excellent communication skills, in particular the ability to maintain open communication channels with internal/external customers, staff and contractors
  • Ability to establish and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships with both clients and contractors
  • Experience with managing sub-contractors from construction to technology
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to develop and foster long term customer relationships
  • Advanced Excel Skills
