About Our Client
Our client is a continually growing FMCG and packaging business with an established reputation for the quality and range of their products. They are well known for their culture of developing and progressing their employee’s careers. Currently they are looking to recruit a packaging engineer on contract to strengthen their packaging engineering team.

Job Description

The role will involve managing the development and implementation of new packaging concepts, components and packaging changes in support of new or existing product development, cost reduction opportunities, and operational improvement activities.

Scope of Role:

  • Oversee packaging issues within NPD and EPD projects. Supporting the project leader by looking after specifications and acting as a liaison point.
  • Proactively manage timelines, numerical data, conflicting priorities and liaise with cross functional experts across the business (Marketing, Suppliers, Factory, quality and procurement).
  • Participate in project teams for new and existing product developments.
  • Plan projects and executing all activities in accordance with agreed timelines

Key Challenges:

  • Manage multiple projects at one time (10-15 projects at a time)
  • Resolve multiple conflicting priorities
  • Ensure completion of tasks on schedule, within tight timeframes
  • Manage projects of high logistical complexity

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant will have;

  • Experience in running packaging projects from start to finish, including NPD and EPD projects.
  • The ability to work independently and be able to complete project in totality for Manager’s sign-off.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications
  • Experience within a consumer good industry, FMCG preferred.
