About Our Client
Our client is globally recognized automotive business based just outside of Melbourne. Occupying significant market share they have seen a period of sustained growth and now looking to source a senior technical manager to join the leadership team.

Job Description

Reporting into the Managing Director you will be solely responsible for driving and installing a proactive work environment throughout a large team of project engineers, design engineers and test engineers. In addition you will be the leading authority on all design work. Other areas you will be responsible for are:

• Development and maintenance of products in line with Product development planning.

• Establish culture of Customer focused innovation through continuous organizational development.

• Establish and maintain technology practices with parent company.

• Work with appropriate external bodies to keep abreast of technology.

• Manage life cycle management process for business center.

• Responsible for budget and expenditure.

• Lead the product development department, maintaining a hands on approach to NPD.

The Successful Applicant
A proven track record within a similar manufacturing product development environment. As Director of Technical and Engineering, you will be capable of making sound business decisions at a senior level. Ideally degree qualified, you will be a pro-active self starter capable of achieving results by effective planning, control and management of a team. Previous knowledge of technical management and new product development is essential, together with capability to manage a successful team through motivation, performance management, development and leadership skills.
