An opportunity has arisen for a financial accountant within one of Australia's largest privately owned property groups. The company owns and operates several leading brands in hospitality, which provide for the well-rated and growing property investment fund. The company has international reach and operations across residential and commercial development and construction, as well as management and investment.

Job Description

Due to internal growth and restructure, an opportunity has arisen within the property fund for a pivotal finance professional. Reporting to the Group Accounting Manager, this position is the most senior financial accountant dedicated to the fund. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the production of statutory financial reports
  • Providing the Group with monthly and quarterly financial reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards in countries of Group operation
  • Preparing taxation returns (BAS, FBT etc)
  • Preparing monthly management reporting pack in association with the Fund Chief Executive
  • Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior staff
  • Assisting with preparation of budgets and forecast
  • Developing fund financial model

As the fund grows, there is significant scope to progress for the right individual.

The Successful Applicant
This role would be an excellent career move for an experienced financial accountant seeking their first move from the Big Four or a mid-tier chartered firm. CA or CPA qualified with proven technical competence, you will thrive on the demands of a fast-paced role and enjoy delivering to senior internal and external stakeholders. The role requires an individual with the drive and potential to move into a leadership role so excellent communication skills are essential. Exposure to or capability in learning complex funds management structures and issues will be welcome.
