Job Description

To become more business-centric and improve responsiveness to business needs, IFC's Corporate Business Informatics Department (CBI) has established a Client Relationship function to lead its relationships with business groups and mobilizing resources for effective and timely delivery of IT solutions and services. As a result of the exciting expansion, IFC is seeking a transformational leader to head the newly-created Business Intelligence unit in the Client Relationship function.

The Head of BI is responsible to establish, lead and manage a unit which will work closely with Executive Management to provide data analysis and decision support tools for all aspects global and decentralized operations. This function plays a critical Client-related role in supporting knowledge sharing within IFC responsible for:

  • Overarching information management and delivery
  • Data Warehousing initiatives
  • ECM initiatives for the warehousing of structured/unstructured data
  • Coordinating and influencing decentralized knowledge management initiatives
  • Requirements definition and design influence for information systems to ensure consistent data quality.
  • IFC Information Center records management and archiving, acting as the official IFC repository of investment portfolio information and the focal point for physical record management/archiving.

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have helped created a World Class BI function in a major financial institution. The nature of this function demands that it be led by a Manager with superb Business Analytic ability; astute awareness of state-of-the-art-and-practice for Data Warehousing, ECM, and knowledge management. Other key requirements include:

  • Expertise in data warehouse, management information system and enterprise data store approaches. Must have clear understanding of the dynamics of an Enterprise Architecture.
  • Strong business acument and success in delivering IT-enabled solutions for globally-decentralized IT environment.
  • Proven track record of experience in analysis and definition of requirements for BI systems and infrastructure within a globally-distributed financial sector, with high level of reliability, scalability and customer satisfaction.
  • Outstanding people-management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to objectively negotiate and facilitate trade-offs, building consensus and commitment among senior management.
