About Our Client
My client is Australia’s peak national umbrella body for sports medicine and sports science and is the leading advisory body on all medical and health issues for active people – from weekend enthusiasts of all ages through to elite level competition.

Job Description
The health and safe participation of Australians in sport is the primary concern. You will also educate professionals and sports-minded community members and assists active people to obtain optimal benefits from their exercise, activity and competition. You will be responsible for contributing to the implementation of several programs delivered in partnership with Government and other industry stakeholders. Primary responsibility will be for the Participation in Community Sport and Active Recreation (PICSAR), Safer Sporting Communities Project that targets populations experiencing disadvantage. Other projects included in the role are Smartplay, a sports injury prevention project; Sports Injury Tracker, an online sports injury surveillance tool and CleanEdge, an anti-doping website targeting community sport.

The Successful Applicant

  • Previous experience in Health promotion or sports project role. ·
  • Broad knowledge of the issues relating to sport and recreation industry, injury prevention and the issues, trends and government policies, programs impacting on the sport and recreation sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project implementation with proven ability to evaluate work and produce high quality advice and reports.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • High level of negotiation and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proven ability to plan and prioritise work, meet prescribed deadlines and concurrently coordinate a number of activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain partnerships
