Job Description

Reporting to the Health, Safety and Environment Manager you will be responsible for the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Program, and the Return to Work Coordination across the site. In addition you will be required to coordinate the Environmental Management Program incorporating training and internal auditing. You will also be responsible for, but not limited to:

· Provide health and safety leadership to the site management team.

· Investigate accidents, and develop and implement return to work plans in the role of the return to work coordinator.

· Coordination of site Safety Committee meetings, and participate in the Environmental Management Team meetings with local residents.

· Provide worksite safety, risk and hazard assessments, including manual handling and occupational hygiene assessments, and provide recommendations on policy and procedure developments to correct deficiencies and minimise the risk of injury.

· Coordinate all medical examinations and health surveillance programs under the Victorian OHS and Hazardous Substance Legislation for the AMS.

The Successful Applicant
You will have a detailed understanding of Australian Chemical Regulations and the industrial chemicals licensing and permitting requirements. You will have experience in the National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (NICNAS) registrations, and the formulation of MSDS’s. A comprehensive understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Dangerous Goods Act, and the Environmental Legislation in Victoria is imperative to this role. As the successful requirement you will be required to a lateral thinker and has the ability to deliver change ensuring streamlined systems to minimise the effort required to get HSE services delivered. You will be required to be a self starter who can analyse, evaluate chemical data and develop relevant reports with a excellent attention to detail.
