About Our Client
My client are looking for an Estimator with good commercial awareness for a North West Sydney based community Construction Contractor dealing with High Quality sports projects and school grounds. The proportion of the work undertaken is design and build and experience within earthworks, asphalt and concreting would be highly regarded. The work undertaken is generally civils and landscaping however civils experience is the main requirement with work in any of the specific areas being beneficial. The successful candidate will be responsible to the Senior Estimator for training period with the intention to become a self sufficient Estimator within twelve month time.

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to :

• Interpreting plans and client requirements to ensure all requirements for any given project are met
• Liaising with Site management and taking responsibility for tasks and scheduling
• Preparation and review of estimates and tender documentation
• Review and management of design aspects
• OH&S planning
• Continual learning to become Senior Estimator
  
  

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant will have had a wealth of landscaping experience and have had a proven history of adapting to a Senior Estimator role, you will have had experience with government or community projects. You will also display the following skills and attributes :

• University degree or TAFE diploma is required
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Email and Internet are essential Experience with programs such as Buildsoft or relevant IT systems are essential
• Ability to read and interpret plans
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Strong people management skills and a passion for the industry
• Proven experience in contract management, site management and office duties.
