The business has a team based culture with design, quality, procurement and manufacturing departments working closely together. Due to Zip’s continued growth and expansion they are looking to strengthen their design team with the addition of an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Sydney.

Job Description
As a seasoned mechanical design engineer you will be part of a development team that takes products from concept, through prototyping and into production. This is a very hands on role with a high degree of diversity, requiring that you manage multiple concurrent projects related to product cost, reliability, quality and manufacture. To fit with the business culture you will need to support your team members and those of manufacturing. Technically you will be required to take a hand’s on approach to prototyping whilst incorporating product aesthetics in your design for manufacture.

The Successful Applicant

To be successful you will:

• Have tertiary qualifications and proven mechanical design experience.
• Have experience of taking products from concept to manufacture
• Have a hands on approach to tooling, prototyping and liaising with manufacturing.
• Experience with Solidworks or Pro Engineer
• Experience in appliance design and sheet metal fabrication will be an advantage.
• Be a team player
• Be innovative and creative
• Be conscientious and take ownership
