Job Description

The mechanical design engineer is required to produce new designs to tight timescales in a supportive team environment. This is a broad scope role however where you will be required to be flexible and get involved in many different aspects of production and assembly of these bespoke products. Being a varied job with responsibility you will be heavily involved in initial design through to final commissioning of the equipment. However practical design will remain central to the position at all times.

• Management of a design team and distribution of workload.

• Produce conceptual designs from specifications.

• Stress and other calculations to support designs.

• You will assist with customer proposals and other sales activities from time to time.

The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have a proven track record within mechanical design from either heavy engineering or automotive related engineering businesses. You will be capable of producing conceptual designs within a demanding environment and working as part of a close knit team. Knowledge of at least of the engineering areas including: Mechanical, Structural, hydraulic, geotechnics or materials would be a advantageous. Overall you must be a strong communicator, positive can-do attitude and a dedication to designing and producing the highest quality product for your customers at all times and committed to being involved in the future growth of the business.
