Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for all Production activity within a fast paced manufacturing site. You will oversee a team of 2 Production Team Leaders, a Customer Supply Manager and the Engineering function. Your time will be divided between developing the workforce through effective empowerment of your management team and improving plant efficiency and quality through numerous projects. Working to short timescales, you will be a key figure in the site's management team presenting to both internal and external stakeholders. Your success will be measured against KPIs including waste, cost reduction and a customer supply service target exceeding 99%. Working closely with the Engineering team, you will be responsible for managing planned maintenance scheduling and play a key role in developing the engineering strategy. On occasion you will deputise for the General Manager. You will introduce Lean Manufacturing Skills to this site and use it to reduce waste and increasing profit margin.

The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in Production / Operations Management. You will either have an engineering background or have built up sufficient knowledge over your experience to understand process flow. Other key criteria include:

• Understanding of modern manufacturing principles and evidence of conceptualising and implementing improvement activity is a key requirement.
• Excellent people management skills and the ability to adopt a range of management styles and approaches to get the best out of each individual on site.
• A commercial awareness with evidence of direct customer interaction and the ability to communicate at all levels
• While there is no direct succession plan attached to this role, the opportunity for personal development is more than likely as the business continues to increase its market share.
