About Our Client
This is a newly created role for a global manufacturing business based near to Melbourne in a large industrialized plant.

Job Description
The Plant Production Manager will be responsible for all manufacturing, production, maintenance, quality and health & safety on site. The position will have a number of direct reports and will manage the day to day running of this manufacturing facility. The Plant Production Manager will drive continuous improvement activity through the management of people and be capable of driving TPM and Reliability focused maintenance strategy. This will lead to the increased efficiency of the site production and overall performance and profitability of the site. Understanding and driving through change and strategy will be key to success in this role. Performance in this role will lead to the successful candidate being on a succession plan to Site General Manager level with global opportunity.

The Successful Applicant
The candidate will ideally have a degree in an engineering, chemistry or a process engineering subject or will be qualified to an equivalent level. We are looking for someone who is engaging at all levels as this role will require a great deal of interaction with the shop floor and key stake holders such as directors and customers. The candidate will be an excellent people manager and have a strong understanding of engineering processes and systems.
