About Our Client

Our client are an ASX listed organisation with a National Presence. They have historically specialised in the Telecommunications Infrastructure market and are looking to expand rapidly with plans to double the workforce within the next 5 years.

The Senior Civil Estimator position is available due to growth within the business and the successful candidate will be seen as the 2IC (2nd in charge) to the Commercial Manager - With the foresight to moving into his role within the next 6-12 months.

Job Description

The Senior Civil Estimator role will incorporate, but not be limited to, the following roles and responsibilities;

• Pricing from first principles - The projects tendered are rarely the same, so a database of prices is not always applicable
• Identifying and Quantifying Commercial and Operational Risk
• Participation in project reviews on all major projects to refine Estimating Practices
• Maintain Market intelligence on price points
• Tender Proposal Presentations to board - Every tender, before submission is presented to the board. this is an excellent opportunity to get face time with the Senior Directors within the business.

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant above all must have Estimating experience within the Civil Construction Industry. Other requirements include;

• The candidate must be a Civil Engineer, and have on site experience.
• Previous experience as a Project Engineer/Project Manager is desirable
• Previous experience in telecommunications infrastructure OR transferable skills from relevant similar projects
• Prior experience with purchasing would also be beneficial
• A degree in Civil Engineering is preferential
• Within commuting distance, or able to relocate to North Ryde
