"I was working in recruitment in the UK and wanted to move to Australia. PageGroup stood out for me above all of the other companies and after a few meetings with the stakeholders, I knew I would fit in easily."

Tell us about your PageGroup career so far

I joined the Perth office in 2011 and thought I had entered a twilight zone as it was smack bang in the mining boom. I recruited in the finance division and made Platinum Club in 2012 to Buenos Aries which was amazing. At the end of 2013 I set up our finance public sector team and was promoted to manager in April 2014. 2015 was a great year for me and my best year so far at PageGroup as I made Platinum Club to Queenstown and top biller for Australia.

How do you spend your time at work?

Most of my time is spent on the phones or out meeting clients or running to the printer (quicker to run than walk). A huge focus of mine when I set up the public sector finance team was to meet with everyone, but I have also had to find the balance of training new starters, client development, working jobs and everything else that comes with it. Over the years I must admit I have got better at time management but that is certainly the hardest part of our job - always lots to do but so little time.

What advice do you have for others who want to join PageGroup?

The first year is always the hardest and it will be a roller coaster ride. The highs do outweigh the lows and my main advice would be to be coachable and stick at it. If you do everything right, are coachable and want to make it work then it will happen.
