About Our Client

We have partnered with a large Queensland Government department to support the search for an AO6 Senior Procurement Officer to join the team in Brisbane CBD.

Job Description

  • Using procurement expertise to provide valuable solutions for government and business
  • Improving procurement practices in strategy, governance, management, operations, and technology
  • Updating traditional procurement methods and creating guidance materials for better practices
  • Evaluating methods to ensure value for money in procurement, aiming for efficiencies and cost reductions that meet government needs
  • Using evidence-based tools to analyse business data, such as strategic plans, to inform procurement strategy
  • Identifying risks to probity and audit requirements while managing market engagement and tender processes according to policy

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract management
  • Previous experience working within the public sector
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and strategic thinking
  • Formal procurement, purchasing and/or contract management accreditation will be well regarded
