Job Description

* Responsible for the operation, support and maintenance of specific software applications, which may be built in-house or third-party software.
* Develop deep understanding of the application's functionality and back end.
* Oversee software testing and transition processes and provide necessary support when required.
* Interacting with the application users + on boarding of the users.
* Work in a team setting
* Applications development
* Monitoring tools and techniques required by the organisation
* The Applications Support Engineer uses critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems. Being passionate about analysing and resolving problems, and addressing technical challenges is essential.

The Successful Applicant

A candidate with a wide understanding of service maintenance

  • Implementing and developing processes and plans
  • Ability to conduct technical impact analysis
  • Design software test plans
  • Test case scenarios

Proficiency to provide software support

  • Develop operational configuration management plans
  • Manage maintenance of COTS and other software technologies to maintain currency
  • Oversee software help desk activities
  • Retirement of software procedure
  • Provide training (developing materials and plans) on new software

Ability to provide insights on service improvements

  • Ensure requirements are met and exceeded
  • Propose recommendations to improve performance
  • Alleviate client satisfaction
  • Anticipate internal/external business challenges and regulatory issues
  • Document technical architecture, code changes, issue resolutions and procedures

Soft Skills

Emotional regulation and proficient communication skills are essential
