Job Description

The Finance Officer role will provide support to the Financial Operations team through the delivery of various activities of the section, that may include, but not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, banking and monthly reporting. The role has responsibilities for the processing and management of financial transactions, managing stakeholder queries and assisting with monthly reporting requirements., including:

  • Under general direction, undertake day-to-day processing for financial transactions, for example, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Provide high quality customer service and manage various enquiries
  • Manage allocated caseloads and tasks through to completion
  • Identify and escalate more complex issues requiring further investigation
  • Assist in the delivery of debt management processes and assist with financial accounting reports
  • Contribute to the development, review and/or implementation of user guides and/or operational procedures
  • Any other duties as required or agreed to by the manager/supervisor.

The Successful Applicant

  • Understanding and competence in the use of computer-based financial management information systems (FMIS) and desktop applications. Experience in use of TechnologyOne (Tech1) Financial management information system would be well regarded
  • Ability to see tasks through to completion and work within agreed work priorities
  • Experience in building and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Personal responsibility for completion of work and demonstrates resilience and flexibility in a financial team environment
  • Ability to listen to and consider different ideas, discuss issues with confidence, understand the audience and tailor communication style to present message in a clear and concise manner, when dealing with stakeholders
