The Assistant Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations by assisting with maintenance of accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and providing essential support to the accounting team. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and have a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Job Description

  • Accounts Receivable/Payable: Process and record invoices, payments and expenses accurately. Follow up on outstanding invoices and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update financial records, including ledger entries accrual reports and journal entries.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, reports and summaries for management, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Budget / Forecasting Support: Assist in the preparation and loading of budgets and forecasts.
  • Payroll Assistance: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
  • Audit Support: Prepare documentation and assist auditors during internal and external audits.

The Successful Applicant

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
  • Demonstrated 3+ years' within a similar role.
  • CPA/CA/ACCA qualification or working towards.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in the Energy & Natural Resources industry.
  • Knowledge of large ERP and Microsoft Excel.
