We are proactively seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our team as an Assistant Accountant in the Accounting & Finance department. This role is based in South Melbourne and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the Logistics industry in a growing business.

Job Description

  • Assisting with month-end journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
  • Assist with monthly management reporting and analysis
  • Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assist with audit preparation and statutory compliance
  • Provide support across AP and AR when required
  • Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate cost allocation
  • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support the wider business

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate

  • A degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in the business services industry will be highly regarded.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
