MHM leads the design, manufacture, installation, commission and after sales support with team members located in 5 locations: Hastings, Christchurch, Auckland, Brisbane and Green Bay USA.

Job Description

  • Design, develop, test and commission automated solutions for tailor made large scale industrial chilling and freezing equipment.
  • Provide technical advice including compliance with AS/NZS standards.
  • Provide feedback on scope and budget for electrical and controls projects.
  • Produce switchboard and Motor Control Centre (MCC) designs compliant with AS/NZS standards.
  • Interpret and draft electrical drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Identify and use appropriate industrial automation software and hardware, with the ability to select system components that are readily available.
  • Create panel layouts, cable schedules and termination diagrams
  • Be conscious of project budgets and report concerns in a timely manner to designated project lead.
  • Prepare and conduct Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
  • Successfully commission projects on national and international customer sites and adhere to the project schedule.
  • Provide maintenance and service support for clients on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Provide our customers with exemplary service and an outstanding experience.

The Successful Applicant

  • Be tertiary qualified in either Electrical and Controls, Automation or Mechatronics.
  • Have at least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Be proficient in PLC programming - Allen Bradley RSLogix (essential), Siemens.
  • Be proficient in design and implementation of SCADA/HMI systems - FactoryTalk View (essential), Ignition, WinCC.
  • Have a firm understanding of relevant Australian standards
  • Have electrical switch gear, drafting and experience - AutoCAD (essential).
  • Have Safety PLC/programmable relays experience - Allen Bradley, Sick Flexi Soft.
  • Be proficient in utilising and fault-finding industrial network protocols - Ethernet, IO-Link, ASi.
  • Have VSD/Servo Drives experience - PowerFlex, SEW.
  • Be experienced with instrumentation and calibration.
  • Have knowledge of industrial safety systems, standards, and verifications.
  • Have exceptional troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Be able to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Be proficient in using Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Have outstanding communication skills and the ability to fully document projects.
  • Have a good eye for details and high level of accuracy.
  • Have excellent planning and organisational skills.

The applicant will have an advantage if they have:

  • Experience with refrigeration systems.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems.
  • Experience in materials handling in the food / dairy industry.
  • Experience in robot programming.
  • Experience with industrial vision systems.
  • Experience with database analysis.
