Job Description

As the Business Development Manager - VIC/SA/NZ, you will report to the Sales Manager APAC and be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market share across Victoria, South Australia, and New Zealand. Your key responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the heavy engineering sectors, including oil & gas, mining, and infrastructure.
  • Gain product specification on key projects through strong engagement with industry stakeholders and demonstrate the superior value propositions of the company's products to win business from competitors.
  • Facilitate product trials and collaborate with distributors to showcase product performance and drive adoption.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key end-users, specifiers, and distribution partners, while managing the customer pipeline through the CRM system.
  • Provide technical and commercial support to key decision-makers, supporting pricing strategies and contract negotiations to achieve financial targets.
  • Deliver high-level technical support to end-users, distributors, and internal teams while assisting in optimizing the performance of abrasive blasting and waterjet cutting applications.
  • Monitor competitor activities, identify new business opportunities, and provide strategic insights on market trends, product performance, and sales forecasts.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of technical sales and/or business development experience.
  • Proven experience in sales within the heavy engineering sectors, including oil & gas, mining, and/or infrastructure, along with expertise in managing and selling through a distributor network.
  • A strategic thinker with a strong technical and commercial mindset, capable of working independently and willing to travel.
  • The VIC/SA/NZ candidate must be based in Melbourne and have permanent work rights
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and influencing skills.
  • Experience using CRM tools to manage sales pipelines and customer data.
