About Our Client
Our client is a well-established organisation who have been operating within the provision of food processing equipment and consumables for over 50 years. With a strong market presence across the ANZ region, they are responsible for the sale of a wide variety of machinery and consumable items to some of the region's leading FMCG organisations.
As Business Unit Manager the position will be responsible for driving sales growth both within existing accounts as well as identifying new commercial opportunities within the food manufacturing sector.
Reporting to both the National Sales and Marketing Manager and the CEO the role will encompass both pro-actively driving revenue through both direct client interaction and driving the sales strategy of the engineering team.
In addition to being responsible for engineered product sales the role will also involve the setting of annual budgets, making staffing decisions and cost management.
In terms of management responsibility, this position will be responsible for the mentoring and development of a small cross functional team comprising; sales, customer service, technical support and equipment service.
From a client perspective the Business Unit Manager role will be responsible for developing commercial relationships with some of the leading FMCG and food processing companies across Australasia. The position will be responsible for the sale of capital equipment items and consumables as well as ongoing service and maintenance contracts.
The Successful Applicant
Whilst my client is open to a variety of backgrounds the ideal candidate will have a combination of the following core competencies:
- Experience of mentoring and leading successful teams within the capital equipment sector.
- Qualifications and experience in the sale of high value equipment items (experience in food processing equipment will be seen highly favourably)
- Proven experience of engaging senior stakeholders to generate successful outcomes.
- Experience of equipment sales into the FMCG sector.
- Proven experience of successfully managing a P&L and driving growth within business units
