About Our Client
Mine Site Construction Services (MSCS) is a long standing and respected Civil Construction, Earthmoving and Contracting Mining Services Provider. The company is built on three generations of family ownership and has in excess of forty years recognized industry experience. Our client is committed to delivering a safe, professional, competitive and proficient execution of services throughout a diverse range of industry disciplines. MSCS has operations throughout Australia and has successfully completed regional and remote contracts from Commonwealth, State and Local Government, Institutional Land Developers and Major Resource companies in the Mining Industry.
Reporting to the General Manager and Board of Directors, you will manage a small finance team and be responsible for ensuring all statutory reporting requirements are met within required timeframes. As a key member of the executive team, you provide analysis on current and future projects, including reviewing tenders and costings. This includes cost build up processes for tendering purposes, including plant, equipment and personnel, combined with commercial law insight when reviewing contract terms and conditions. In addition, this role will provide a high calibre board with business critical reports, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided to Directors and with data based insight and recommendations. With MSCS looking at new business opportunities, you will also utilise appropriate BI tools to provide data analysis and determining appropriate strategies/costing regarding assets.
The Successful Applicant
You will be a qualified (CA/CPA) financial professional who has an appreciation of the dynamics of working in a long standing and successful family business. In addition, you will be a proactive leader who communicates in a concise and respectful manner, to understand current processes, while being innovative to consider new opportunities. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a good sense of humour and strong work ethic, who wants to be proactively involved in growing business and making a genuine impact. You will need to demonstrate a sense of energy and enthusiasm, combined with fact-based recommendations, to add genuine value to drive business growth. Previous experience within the mining, civil construction or project-based environment will be highly advantageous. Furthermore, the successful person will be proficient in commercial law, to enable a thorough review of contract terms and conditions. Previous experience with data mining, utilising appropriate BI tools, to assist in determining appropriate strategies will be important to be successful in this role. A proven track record in coaching, leading and managing a team will be highly regarded.
