About Our Client
Our client is a private corporate services company that provides accounting, financial and investment related management services to a Perth-based family office with significant core investments in commercial office property and hotels throughout Australia. The family office is part of a larger group based in Kuala Lumpur with diverse investment holdings, business units and a separate treasury team. There are future considerations for growth opportunities within the group, including an IPO in Malaysia and continued diversification of assets in Australia.
Reporting to the Board and executive team in Perth, you will lead a small finance team and be primarily responsible for all financial management and cash flow reporting functions. In this hands-on leadership role, you will provide your professional insight and recommendations on current and future property investments, including financial models to effectively manage funding of Australian properties and developing and implementing effective capital management strategies and plans. Furthermore, you will be responsible for Company Secretarial tasks and oversee and coordinate the audit of Australian entities. Finally, you will provide the management team and Board with scenario planning analysis and risk management options addressing key market and economic challenges (including but not limited to COVID-19) and identifying cost minimisation initiatives and cash flow maximising opportunities.
The Successful Applicant
A qualified Accountant, you will have a proven background of board reporting and influencing combined with working hands-on in a small and collaborative team. Previous experience in a project environment, preferably in the property/hotel/funds management sector. Furthermore, experience in a family office environment will be highly regarded as will an appreciation for the tax differences in jurisdictions, such as Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. Finally, you will demonstrate strong business ethics, acumen and have a proven track record of effective financial management (including DCF scenario planning and analysis) and ideally Company Secretary exposure.
