This is the first role in Australia and entails managing and overseeing all regulatory compliance activities for the company, whilst establishing the compliance and risk procedures from scratch. This is the first position being hired in Australia and therefore will be a stand-alone, remote position initially. That said, you will sit within a Global Compliance Team and have regular interactions support from colleagues based in Asia and North America.

Licensed in Australia, they are looking to ' and Expand' within the next 18 months and are looking to hire The Risk and Compliance Officer as the first hire to establish the processes and procedures for the Australian business.

Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Australia Compliance and Risk Officer to establish and maintain a robust compliance program supporting financial services and financial markets products.

  • Oversee the Australia regulatory compliance and AML/CFT program under the AFS License.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Authorities and manage ASIC filing and reporting for financial and FX institutional brokerage services.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures, particularly related to AML/CFT laws and AUSTRAC requirements.
  • Manage customer onboarding, enhanced due diligence, risk profiling, sanction screening, transaction monitoring, SMR and IFTI reporting.
  • Provide oversight for the code of conduct and AFCA complaint handling compliance programs.
  • Collaborate with the Global Compliance Team to marry local regulations with group policy.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements:

  • Strong track record of managing compliance operations within regulated environment.
  • Previous experience in Payments Industry or Payments Department of larger organisation is highly values.
  • Demonstrable experience engaging with Regulatory bodies including ASIC, AUSTRAC and AFCA.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Regulatory environment for CFD trading, AM/CFT and sanctions.
  • Compliance experience with FX derivatives highly preferred.
  • Professional qualifications in compliance is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Willingness to work remotely and able to manage time and duties independently.
