An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy CFO to play a key strategic role in the leadership of the Finance & Strategy Directorate of Uniting.

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Strategy, as Deputy CFO you will work with the Executive Leadership Team to drive financial performance, compliance and governance across the organisation. You will be providing strategic advice on organisation-wide financial management matters such as property developments, financial investment strategy, insurance, working capital management, governance and regulatory matters. There will be M&A opportunities where you will take the lead of internal and external teams. As a transformation leader, you will create a continuous improvement culture across the Finance function. Being able to take a range of strategic and granular matters from execution all the way through to Executive, Board reporting and external presentations is key. More importantly, you will be a mentor and coach to many individuals across an evolving Finance function.
The Successful Applicant
You may have a range of backgrounds from traditional Finance to Corporate Finance, Corporate Banking or Property Development ($1bn+). You should have the ability to influence at all levels within a business and have a track record of leading both system, process and people change in a complex environment, driving operational improvement and leading and inspiring people. This role suits an individual who is not hung up on team structure and is genuinely a mentor and coach to many. You should be an inclusive leader with a can-do attitude who is willing to take on things outside of your job description. You should be articulate in a wide range of strategic and operational Finance-related topics and be a quick learner. You must have the ability to be both strategic and detail orientated. You will have excellent commercial business acumen with an appreciation of financial control and regulatory compliance. Experience with M&A, Asset management, Insurance, Working Capital is beneficial. Experience in the sectors where Uniting operates is not necessary.
