Job Description

  • Develop, review and deliver detailed electrical solutions for customer connections, network augmentations and infrastructure projects across NSW electricity distribution networks.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant DNSP standards, relevant Australian Standards, safety regulations and accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders including network service providers, project managers, contractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
  • Provide technical input, guidance and support across project teams throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.
  • Prepare, review and issue high‑quality technical reports, drawings and design documentation suitable for submission and approval.
  • Undertake site inspections, design audits and verification activities to ensure project quality and adherence to approved designs.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in design workflows, constructability and compliance, contributing to the implementation of innovative and efficient design practices.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering ASP Level 3 Design solutions within electricity distribution networks or contestable works environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards, NSW distribution network requirements, and relevant regulatory and safety frameworks.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard electrical design and documentation tools, with experience producing designs suitable for network authority submission and approval.
  • Excellent technical problem‑solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and design accuracy.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively within multi‑disciplinary project teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders and producing clear, professional technical documentation.
