About Our Client

A rapidly growing vehicle manufacturer specialising in Caravan's, located in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne. Specialising in providing structural framing along with a plethora of other CNC fabricated componentry. They subcontracted to a number of high-profile caravan manufacturers in the Campbellfield area, the prime hub of caravan manufacturing in Australia. After four years of operation and utilising their highly skilled workforce, they switched their focus from supplying the caravan industry to manufacturing caravans.

Job Description

Plan and oversee all aspects of the day to day running of an allocated Engineering workshop. Administrative duties to ensure the workshop is well run, with efficient resource for the Subject Area e.g., pricing and ordering of equipment, tools, materials, and consumables through Senior Engineer - Integration.Health & Safety responsibilities to ensure all activity in the workshop takes place as safely as possible and in compliance with company policy: development and delivery of workshop Health and Safety induction.Ad hoc duties requested by the Senior Engineer - Integration, and the Head of Engineering Department, allowing the workshop and supported both Engineering programs and production to run as smoothly as possible.

The Successful Applicant

A solid understanding of woodworking techniques & metal work and construction of various and sometimes complex product design and installations. Possibly familiar with maintenance of aluminum cladding's, as well as but not limited to:

o 5 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing (Preferably Caravan Industry)
o Engineering related qualification.
o Strong knowledge of Manufacturing process
o Knowledge of woodworking, metalworking techniques.
o Welding and fabrication (Ideal)
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Good interpersonal skills.
o Well-developed communication skills
o Clear understanding of health and safety law and implications of non-compliance on others.
o Ability to read and interpret drawings and diagrams.
o Ability or willingness to learn how to analyse parts, assemblies, and production processes.
o High capacity to work in a focused and methodical manner.
o High capacity to work under pressure and fulfil tight deliver schedules.
o Comfortable working in on highly focused tasks.
