Job Description

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of monthly financial results for various retail business units across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports for internal stakeholders, providing insights into performance and trends.
  • Manage the preparation and lodgement of monthly BAS and annual FBT returns in compliance with tax regulations.
  • Address financial inquiries and resolve issues to ensure smooth financial operations across the retail network.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and proper asset tracking.
  • Conduct stock valuation costings and analyse variances, providing support for inventory management and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with key business units to develop accurate cash flow forecasts, budgets, and monthly financial reports.
  • Assist with year-end audits, ensuring financial statements accurately reflect the retail business's performance and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely completion of all month-end processes, working closely with the finance team to meet deadlines.
  • Support the Financial Controller with ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives related to the retail industry.



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA / CPA qualification or actively working towards it.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems.
  • Previous experience in the retail industry, preferably with a focus on financial operations or inventory management.
  • Knowledge of retail-specific financial practices and regulations.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented retail environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
