About Our Client

Our client is a large multinational retail organisation with substantial finance operations across Australia and New Zealand, operating in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment with a strong focus on compliance, internal controls, and continuous improvement.

Job Description

  • Prepare income tax returns, disclosures, transfer pricing documentation, tax effect accounting, and BAS/GST analysis.
  • Prepare annual consolidated financial statements, ESG reporting, and statutory disclosures.
  • Review and analyse P&L movements, variances, and prepare meaningful commentary for internal stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, and follow‑up of outstanding items.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, internal control development, and system enhancement initiatives.
  • Perform core financial accounting activities including technical accounting, consolidations, and month‑end responsibilities.
  • Supervise an Assistant Accountant and complete ad‑hoc duties as required.

The Successful Applicant

  • 3+ years' experience within a mid‑ to large‑sized business, ideally multinational or high‑volume ($200m+ revenue equivalent).
  • Strong financial accounting foundation with technical knowledge of Australian and New Zealand accounting standards and tax compliance.
  • CA/CPA qualified or progressing, with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and business partnering skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, organised, and able to work independently while contributing positively to team outcomes.
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, VLOOKUPs, Power Query).
  • Must hold full working rights
