We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations within the retail industry. This long-term contract role requires a strong focus on financial management and compliance to support business objectives effectively.
  • ASAP Start - $180,000 - 200,000 + Superannuation

Job Description

The Financial Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Manage financial reporting processes, including preparing accurate reports and forecasts.
  • Oversee budgeting and cost management to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Monitor cash flow and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Lead and support the accounting team to achieve department objectives.
  • Lead month end processes with the support of 3 direct reports
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline financial operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Play a lead role in the roll out of systems and processes (project and transformation)

The Successful Applicant

The Financial controller will have or be:

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CA is highly regarded (or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.
  • Experience in the retail, FMCG or manufacturing industry is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills
