Job Description

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial statements to key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise financial performance and cost efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business planning and decision-making processes.
  • Manage cash flow and financial risk, ensuring the organisation's financial stability.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the year-end audit process.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Controller should have:

  • Proven expertise in accounting and finance, particularly within the Energy & Natural Resources industry.
  • A professional accounting qualification such as CPA or CA.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations and standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
