Job Description

Reporting to the COO, the Financial Controller will take ownership of the Finance Function in a standalone capacity to complete the following:

Month End Duties:

  • Preparing financial reports including reconciliations
  • Overseeing strategic cash flow
  • Providing property development reporting and profitability analysis
  • Processing entries into MYOB
  • Maintaining investment reports and database
  • Preparing a monthly reporting pack

Year End Responsibilities:

  • Preparing year-end accounts
  • Miscellaneous Tasks:
  • Overseeing cash flow management
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance (ASIC, ATO, etc.)
  • Maintaining loan book documentation
  • Reviewing trading entities accounts monthly and annually
  • Undertaking adhoc tasks as they arise

Tax-related Duties:

  • Tax planning (bi-annually)
  • Ensuring compliance for trusts, companies, and SMSF
  • Handling FBT returns
  • Preparing and lodging BAS returns
  • Collaborating with external accountants for year-end tax returns


  • Processing of fortnightly and monthly pays
  • Lodgment and payments for Superannuation, ATO, and SRO
  • Handling Workcover returns

The Successful Applicant

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA or CA qualification (preferred)
  • Proven experience in a finance manager role or similar
  • The capability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • A proactive and adaptable nature, keen on continual improvement
  • Familiarity with software such as MYOB, StockMaster, Employment Hero, and MS products (desirable but not essential)
