About Our Client
The Australasian Rail Association (ARA) is the national peak body for rail focused organisations across Australia. As the key advocacy body for all things rail and rail related the ARA facilitates and communicates on behalf of the industry. Ultimately the ARA strives to ensure a better rail future for all members.
The ARA is seeking to hire a General Manager for the freight and ports sector to manage key member relationships and issues
Job Description
The position will have a key focus on the issues in the rail freight, heavy haul and wider ports sector. You will deepen relationships and champion the cause of the sector and undertake initiatives and strategies that support policy in this space. Member engagement and advocacy are core elements of the role.
The Successful Applicant
We are seeking a savvy government facing operator that can get the membership onside and truly champion a stakeholders' cause. The role will not necessarily need a freight or ports background (although this is advantageous) but an appreciation of a heavy industry such as rail, road haulage, logistics or infrastructure. Personally you should have a proven track record within an industrial sector and experience with advocacy, corporate communications and be across recent policy shaping and contemporary industry issues.
