This reflects BIG4's increasing dedication to advancing the digital experience for holiday-goers.As part of their strategic vision, their 'Digital Growth Strategy', they are insourcing their Product Development team to further fuel rapid sales growth, which has seen a three-fold increase in traffic and revenue in the past three years.Reporting into the General Manager, Digital & Technology, the Head of Engineering will be the cornerstone of this initiative, tasked with spearheading the formation and leadership of their new engineering team.This role is pivotal in shaping the future of BIG4's digital landscape, offering a unique opportunity to influence the company's trajectory and leave a lasting impact on the holiday park industry.Job DescriptionReporting into the General Manager, Digital & Technology, the Head of Engineering will be responsible for:Establishing and leading BIG4's internal engineering teamCollaborating with the Senior Product Manager and other stakeholders to prioritise and execute product roadmapsDriving the development of new products and features that align with the BIG4 Product Vision, addressing customer needs and enhancing park experiencesEnsuring the delivery of high-quality products that solidify BIG4's competitive advantage and contribute to our overarching successOverseeing the maintenance, enhancement, and modernisation of BIG4's .NET systems and supporting infrastructure to meet business goals and technical standardsThe Successful ApplicantAs the successful applicant, you will ideally posses:A minimum of 10 years in software engineering, with a track record of leading or supervising dynamic teamsProficiency in C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core, with a deep understanding of software architecture and design principlesSkilled in the use of relevant software engineering tools, with a comprehensive grasp of engineering standards and techniquesDemonstrable knowledge in front-end development, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity measuresProven experience in managing and modernising .NET systems, ensuring they meet current and future business requirementsStrong background in Agile and DevOps methodologies, with the ability to adapt and implement these practices effectively.Excellent leadership qualities, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and guideDemonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering teams towards achieving collective goalsExceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven decision-making approachAdept at identifying challenges and crafting solutions that drive progress and innovationExperience in managing complex technical projects and leading engineering teams with a positive and morale-boosting attitudeExperience in working with external vendors and fostering productive vendor relationshipsWhat's on OfferNewly created role.
