From a small store in Bendigo in 1974, today Drummond Golf is Australia's largest off-course golf retailer with 50 stores nationwide, run predominantly on a Franchise model.Job DescriptionDrummond Golf are searching for a Head of Finance to join their team, to help develop and implement best practices and support the business's commercial decision making.Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for managing an established finance team, coordinating the annual budgeting and planning process with other Department Heads, as well as all responsibility for financial reporting, audit, tax and compliance activities, including franchise code compliance.The Head of Finance will be responsible for monitoring business performance, develop systems to monitor franchisee performance and initiating corrective measures where required. You will also be expected to visit franchise sites on occasion, oversee ERP changes and ultimately be responsible for helping safeguard and grow the business.The Successful ApplicantIdeal Background: CA / CPA qualified Finance professionals with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles who have worked as part of an executive team, in a medium to large business. Experience in retail, franchising or consumer goods will be beneficial but not mandatory, although experience in a complex and evolving, inventory-lead business will be highly regarded.Technical skills: Candidates with experience in Finance leadership roles in organisations that have experienced change and transformation moving towards best practice are best suited to this role. Candidates with proven experience working with other Department Heads advising them on commercial decisions, will be prioritised. You will require broad experience across financial and management reporting, as well as oversight of annual audit and tax filings.Behavioural attributes: Drummond are values-driven in their hiring decisions, so candidates that demonstrate the Drummond Golf Values (communication, respect, integrity, creativity, knowledge, teamwork) will be prioritised. Clear and effective communication skills are essential, and supportive leadership of the finance team is also a key part of this role.
