About Our Client

Our client operates a successful and growing Entertainment/Hospitality business with venues across all major cities in Australia. With plans to double in size over the next three to four years, they are looking for a finance leader to support their expansion and operational excellence. The business is dynamic, entrepreneurial, and focused on delivering unique experiences while maintaining financial discipline. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the leadership team and contribute to strategic decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Reporting to the COO your role your role will be to come in and initially work in a stand alone capacity to build up the finance function and focus on the following responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of cash flow forecasting and management, ensuring the business maintains strong liquidity and has the financial stability to support its growth strategy.
  • Oversee month-end close processes, financial reporting, and compliance to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Oversee relationships with external service providers managing payroll and transactional finance functions.
  • Partner with the leadership team and venue managers to provide financial insights and drive performance improvements.
  • Conduct financial analysis and appraisals for new venue developments, working closely with the development team.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and risk management processes to safeguard company assets.
  • Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to support strategic decision-making and business expansion.
  • Drive process improvements and implement financial systems to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reporting capabilities.
  • Liaise with external accountants and tax advisors to ensure compliance with year-end tax obligations, financial audits, and regulatory requirements.

The Successful Applicant

You are a commercially minded finance leader with a hands-on approach and a track record of supporting business growth in a dynamic environment. You remain calm and resilient under pressure, able to juggle multiple priorities and solve problems with a steady, unflappable approach.

  • CPA/CA qualification with strong technical finance experience.
  • Proven ability to manage financial reporting, cash flow, and budgeting in a growing business.
  • Experience working in a hands-on, fast-paced scale-up environment where agility and problem-solving are key.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to partner with operational teams.
  • Experience in the hospitality, retail, or multi-site business environment is highly regarded.
  • Ability to implement financial systems and drive process improvements.
