About Our Client

Our client is a small but growing mining services organisation actively seeking an experience HR Manager on a permanent basis. This is a standalone generalist HR role, reporting into the CFO.

Job Description

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of all aspects of Human Resources, Employee Relation and Industrial Relations.

  • Guide and advise the Executive Leadership Team (COO, CTO, CFO & DGM), as the in-house subject matter expert on all personnel matters
  • Provide support, advice, training and guidance to managers & supervisors on HR, ER & IR issues, on a day-to-day basis
  • Support supervisory staff to understand the importance of caring for their team members
  • Review & develop employee relations systems & procedures
  • Assist with and advise on performance management issues & procedures
  • Interview & Selection of potential recruits
  • Oversee the management and filing of personnel files and records
  • Manage Labour Hire providers, rates and personnel matters
  • Calculation, processing & management of weekly payroll
  • Resolution of all staff payroll queries
  • Management of Workers Compensation claims (new and on-going)
  • Advise on all contractual and legal ER requirements
  • Point of contact for all Union visits and matters
  • Represent BCS in conciliation discussions, with the aim of resolving potential claims
  • Problem solving and negotiation

The Successful Applicant

  • 'C' class motor vehicle license
  • Strong interpersonal skills (build effective relationships and influence with leaders on all levels)
  • Leadership skills
  • Business knowledge (strategy, process and standards)
  • Extensive knowledge of HR management, processes and tools
  • Change management and coaching skills
  • Good team player, excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Minimum Bachelors' degree in HR management or relative field
  • Some travelling will be required to remote sites
