Lawyer / Legal Counsel - Privacy Law

About Our Client
This role will be placed in the Privacy team and acts as a legal advisor on data security and privacy matters across the agency. This role will perform the function of Privacy Officer (junior or senior) for the agency, supported by a working group comprised of the agency's General Counsel team members.
As a Privacy lawyer you will partner with relevant business stakeholders, including our GGC regulatory, procurement and technology teams, as well as risk and compliance and data analytics teams, to enable achievement and harmonisation of the agency's privacy and data security education, compliance and governance objectives.
The Successful Applicant
- Providing effective and timely delivery of privacy and data security legal services; proactive identification of legal issues and risks and the development of commercial solutions to maintain the appropriate risk balance whilst developing the organisation's overall legal strategy and approach with the agency General Counsel and General Counsels.
- Advising on all in-house data security and privacy matters across the business including in relation to proposed new projects and products, third party security risk assessments, privacy incident management/resolution, policy development and maintenance, breach register, IT security documentation, mandatory breach notifications, privacy and data governance strategy and advocacy.
