About Our Client
Our client a Melbourne based FMCG company with a selection of leading brands in Australia and internationally.
Due to growth in the company they are looking for a Maintenance Team leader to manage and develop their existing maintenance team.
The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for leading the maintenance fitter resource and providing technical leadership to the line setting resource.
The scope covers all aspects of maintenance and upkeep of all company plant and equipment, ensuring efficient operations and maximising productivity.
This hands-on role will role will work closely and collaboratively with production staff, continuous improvement teams and Quality.
The role will be highly influential in reducing change-over times and minimising down-time by data led process improvement, a comprehensive preventative and planned maintenance schedule CMMS, and on-hand availability of appropriate spares.
The role will establish, publish and train operators in standardised machine set-up procedures. The role will ensure all set-up sheets and WI's are correctly documented, controlled and accessible.
The role will ensure a safe workplace by eliminating safety risks with regular audits.
In addition, the role will work closely with the Engineering & Maintenance Manager of capex projects and other projects as required.
The Key accountabilities include (but are not limited to):
- Ensure that all equipment, services and all buildings and grounds are maintained in accordance with company policy and procedures and ensure a safe work environment.Develop, publish and train operators in standardised set-up procedures.
Support the Maintenance Engineering Manager in major capex and other projects.
Develop the CMMS system in line with all plant and equipment.
Leading and developing the maintenance resource within the business.
Develop a highly motivated and engaged team.
Monitoring condition of equipment and breakdown reports .
Implement a documented preventative maintenance program.
Manage spare parts for all equipment.
Set up equipment during job change overs.
Improve machine efficiency, productivity and quality
Monitoring machine performance during running and developing the procedures within a formal change process where necessary to improve performance or quality levels
Input into the production planning process, with emphasis on efficient machine utilisation and minimising change-overs times
Liaising and managing approved contract service providers
Being involved in cross functional teams involved in NOD and change process
Provide a weekly management report summarising all key risks and the progress of current activities.
The Successful Applicant
- Leading a maintenance team in a FMCG automated environment
- CMMS and preventive and predictive maintenance
- Risk assessments and audits
- A minimum of Certificate IV in Engineering in mechanical trade (maintenance - fitting and/or turning)
- Welding Certification
- High Risk Work certification, EWP, Working @ Heights, Roof Access, Confined Space, Hot Work permit desirable
