Marketing and Communications Manager

Southern Suburbs Perth Permanent View Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for Communications Manager to lead and execute marketing strategies within a major ASX listed mining and resources industry. This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving communication initiatives and delivering impactful results.
  • Opportunity to shape and elevate the communications strategy
  • The opportunity to lead and grow a talented marketing and communications team.

About Our Client

We are seeking an accomplished Marketing and Communications Manager to lead the development and delivery of strategic internal and external communications across a diverse group of businesses within a leading Australian resources and infrastructure organisation.

This role is pivotal in strengthening the company's corporate brand, enhancing stakeholder and investor communications, and ensuring messaging remains consistent, professional, and strategically aligned with business objectives.

Reporting to the General Manager - Corporate Services, the successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to deliver clear, engaging and effective communications that build trust, visibility, and confidence across the market.

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to support corporate, investor, and stakeholder engagement objectives.
  • Produce high-quality written materials including ASX announcements, annual reports, AGM presentations, speeches, corporate publications, and website content.
  • Manage and refine the corporate brand and messaging for consistency across all internal and external channels.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a small team of communications and marketing professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Build and maintain a positive and high-performing team culture that encourages creativity, excellence, and shared success.
  • Support proactive public relations, ESG communications, and media engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee digital marketing, technical marketing campaigns, and corporate events.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external communications partners while ensuring internal ownership of messaging.
  • Build effective working relationships with senior executives, particularly the CEO, to support strategic communication priorities.

The Successful Applicant

You are a confident communicator and strong writer who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach. You'll bring:

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations, business, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years' experience in communications or marketing, ideally within the mining, resources, or ASX-listed sector.
  • A journalism or corporate writing pedigree with proven expertise in long-form, high-stakes communications - including ASX releases, annual reports, speeches, and investor presentations.
  • Experience supporting senior executives and boards in media, investor, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and rebuild team culture during a period of change.
  • Resilience, creativity, and pragmatism - able to influence at senior levels while remaining adaptable and proactive.
  • A willingness to be hands-on and personally drive execution, not just oversee strategy.

What's on Offer

This is an opportunity to make a real impact - leading the evolution of a respected corporate brand in a traditional but evolving industry. You'll work closely with senior decision-makers, have visibility across the business, and help shape how the company presents itself to the market, investors, and community.
