About Our Client

Our client, a well-established industrial manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Material Planner for a 6-month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials required for production. The successful candidate will manage stock levels, forecast material requirements, and work closely with suppliers, production teams, and internal stakeholders to optimise the supply chain process and minimise downtime.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage material forecasting and stock control to ensure availability of critical materials for production.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, production teams, and logistics to coordinate timely deliveries and avoid production delays.
  • Monitor and adjust material orders based on changing production requirements and inventory levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of material usage, stock levels, and supplier performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions in material procurement and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in all material planning activities.



Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in material planning or supply chain management within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of material planning processes, inventory management, and demand forecasting.
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing relationships to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the business.

The Successful Applicant

You have a proven track record in material planning within the industrial manufacturing sector, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. You have a strong ability to forecast material needs, manage stock, and work collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth production flow. Your attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment make you an asset to any team.
