About Our Client
Our client is an established manufacturing organisation in Melbourne's west who has a strong reputation in their market for excellence. The organisation is part of a larger group that has been manufacturing for over 100 years and has a recognisable name across the world.
Job Description
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the key responsibilites include:
- Provide support to factory managers and production co-ordinators on performance reports and financial matters
- Monitor and analyse factory recovery and material variances and recommend action plan
- Raise monthly stock value reports and investigate/follow up on variations
- Follow up, analyse ad review obsolete stock values
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and process accounting journals as required
- Perform monthly cost roll-ups ensuring standard costs are accurate, appropriate adjustments and are promptly processed into the system
- Review PLP
- Assist in stock-takes
- Review price variances on inter company purchases and lead corrective actions
- Complete all month end tasks as required
- GP checks
- Prepare monthly Sales by production comparison report
- Monthly departmental cost analysis
- Liaise with SBU management to develop Budgets and Forecasts - sales, GP, expenses, factory rates
- Liaise with External Auditors
- Ad-hoc analysis
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate is an experienced finance professional with high levels of motivation and drive. They also have:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years experience in Cost Accounting or Management Accounting
- Studying towards or completed CA/CPA qualification
- Intermediate MS Excel skills required
- Manufacturing experience ideal but not required
- Excellent problem solving, stakeholder management and communication skills
