The Payroll Compliance Specialist will play an essential role in ensuring accurate payroll processes and adherence to compliance standards for SSP Australia. Based in either Melbourne or Sydney, this role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who excels with Award interpretation and working with payroll data.

Job Description

  • Interpretation of Awards and application of data under review
  • Support the Payroll Manager during the fortnightly pay period with general enquiries, termination calculations, correction calculations and during payroll processing each fortnight to ensure accuracy
  • Support end of financial year processes
  • Assist with the rollout of new payroll processes and provide feedback on payroll system & HRIS best practice
  • Oversee system configurations
  • Support Big 4 consultancy with the extraction and interpretation of time & attendance data + data validation
  • Liaising with current and former employees around remediation activities
  • Processing remediation payments



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and software.
  • Experience managing end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills to address and resolve payroll discrepancies.
