Job Description

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Own and manage the end‑to‑end payroll function
  • Oversee and liaise with external payroll providers
  • Review and approve payroll outputs including salaries, superannuation, bonuses, commissions, and terminations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for payroll queries from employees and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work, ATO, superannuation, payroll tax, and other legislative requirements
  • Manage payroll reporting, reconciliations, and month‑end close activities
  • Maintain, improve, and document payroll processes, controls, and systems (including HR/leave software)
  • Maintain audit‑ready payroll records and support internal and external audits
  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable during peak periods and assist with process improvements



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years' experience in end‑to‑end payroll
  • A solid understanding of Australian payroll and employment legislation
  • Experience working with external payroll providers (a bonus)
  • Experience using payroll/HR systems and accounting software (Xero is a plus!)
  • High attention to detail, strong accuracy, and good reconciliation skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload
  • A team‑player mindset, with openness to helping out with AP & AR when needed
  • Clear communication skills and a friendly, collaborative attitude
