Job Description

  • Accurately process payroll for all school staff in compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and policies.
  • Manage payroll information including timesheets, leave applications, and new staff entries.
  • Administer superannuation contributions and salary packaging, including monthly reporting and reconciliations.
  • Provide timely and professional support to staff regarding payroll queries.
  • Collaborate with IT and external providers to improve payroll systems and processes.
  • Stay up to date with payroll legislation and recommend procedural adjustments to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold high standards of integrity.
  • Meet payroll deadlines while managing multiple tasks in a dynamic school environment.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience or strong interest in payroll processing, with a willingness to learn and develop skills in a supportive school environment.
  • Basic understanding of payroll legislation and industrial awards is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficiency or familiarity with payroll software systems is preferred; training will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
