Job Description

As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for assigned business units, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of payroll services. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to maintain data integrity, support compliance, and contribute to process improvements.

  • Process weekly/fortnightly payroll for approximately 500 employees.
  • Prepare and reconcile month-end journals, ensuring accurate and timely calculation and payment of payroll liabilities, including PAYG tax, payroll tax, superannuation, and employee deductions.
  • Perform end-of-year payroll reconciliations for group tax, payroll tax, and related obligations, maintaining full compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Calculate and process termination and redundancy payments in accordance with legislative and company requirements.
  • Provide responsive support to employees on payroll queries, including pay discrepancies, personal information updates, and use of the self-service portal.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes affecting payroll, tax, superannuation, and employment law.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate is a seasoned payroll professional with at least three years of hands-on experience in end-to-end payroll processing. They're confident working across multiple business units, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and bring a sharp eye for detail and compliance. You are proactive, solutions-focused, and always looking for ways to improve processes and drive efficiency.
